Rating: PG.
Synopsis: In the 1930's Australia had in place a program by which they "purified"
mixed-breeds (Aboriginee and White) of their Aboriginee blood. This involved separation
of children from parents. The story of Rabbit Proof Fences focuses around the amazing
true story of three young girls who refuse to accept the fate Australia has chosen
for them and instead make the long journey back across many hundreds of miles to
their mother's.
Director: Philip Noyce.
Cast: Everlyn Sampi, Tianna Sansbury, Kenneth Branagh.
Review: One of those excellent movies that are, ohh so rare. This heart-breaking
story is an eye-opener for those interested in the social structure that would allow
World War II to break out. While occurring half-way around the world from Nazi Germany
this story can help us better understand how people were brought to do what they
did. The film is well-made and contains almost no objectionable content.
