Synopsis: The story of the life of Julius Caesar, from his humble beginnings to
his rise to power and eventual betrayal.
Director: Uli Edel.
Cast: Jeremy Sisto, Richard Harris, Christopher Walken.
Review: An excellent movie. It is almost entirely clean. It includes epic battle
scenes and endears you to the many characters. There is one use of the word a**,
and a scene where he and his wife are sleeping together while done tastefully still
may be a little more than some desire to see. One of the down-points of the movie
is the initial scene of Caesar meeting Cleopatra. Initially it is fine, since she
is covered in a robe, but eventually she loosens and then takes off the robe reveal
a dress that barely covers her breasts. Following this there is some crude joking
about Caesar and Cleopatra's relationship. Later in the movie during a nightmare
by Caesar's wife there are quick flashes of a scene that includes a statue with
a naked breast in the background. Finally, Brutus' wife is at one point seen in
a nightgown which may be the slightest bit transparent. |
